Tourist Attractions in Ajmer

Ajmer, formerly on paper Ajmere, is a town in Ajmer Region in India's Rajasthan state. Enclosed by the Aravalli Hills, Ajmer, also known as Ajaymeru, was the town once found by Prithviraj Chauhan. Their inhabitant was almost 500,000 in 2001.

Ajmer, historical pilgrimage holy city is located on the banks of the Ana Sagar Pond at an elevation of 486 measures above sea stage. Ajmer which is about 130 kms from Jaipur, covers a complete region of 55.76 rectangle km. In history, Ajmer had significant planned importance and was sacked by Mohammed Ghori on one of his occasional forays from Afghanistan. Later it became a preferred property of the great Mughal.
